Il 1 aprile 1825 Bernard Kühlen fondò la stamperia e casa editrice B.Kühlen come uno dei primi istituti d'arte litografica nel Basso Reno. On 1 April 1825 Bernard Kühlen founded the printing and publishing house Bernhard Kühlen as one of the first lithographic art institutions in the Lower Rhine. The focus of his business activities was then in the maintenance and propagation of Christian art. The art publisher Oskar Kühlen developed in the late 19th Century B.Kühlen to make business in international markets. Under his cooperation was built in Leipzig, the first German-speed press for lithography and in 1869 was situated in Mönchengladbach. In 1924 Oskar Kühlen bequeathed his house at the Bismarck Strasse 97, including his collection of art and crafts items to the city of Mönchengladbach.
