Johann Nepomuk Kravogl, pittore e litografo, nacque il 9 marzo 1803 a Nauders, nell'alta valle dell'Inn. Nel 1826 si stabilì come insegnante d'arte a Innsbruck e nel 1834, nei pressi dell'Università di Innsbruck, fondò uno stabilimento litografico. Qui furono stampate negli anni soprattutto immagini devozionali ricordi di santuari, santini e immagini sacre. Ebbero una diffusione molto ampia, specialmente le immagini relative a soggetti natalizi e alla Via Crucis. Morì a Innsbruck il 13 novembre del 1873.

Johann Nepomuk Kravogl, painter and lithographer, was born the 9 March 1803 at Nauders, in the upper Inn valley. In 1826 he settled as an art teacher in Innsbruck and in 1834, near the University of Innsbruck, he founded a lithographic establishment. Here were printed over the years especially memories of shrines sacred images, holy and devotional cards. They had a very wide spread, especially the images of Christmas subjects and the Via Crucis. He died November 13th in Innsbruck, in 1873.
