Straordinario reperto di importanza museale. Santino incisione di (Claude ?) Duflos . I Duflos erano una famiglia di incisori francesi (sec. XVII-XIX). Claude (Coucy-le-Château 1665-Parigi 1727) fu abile nel riprodurre in incisione opere di G. Reni, C. Le Brun e di altri artisti. La sua attività fu proseguita dai figli Philothée-François (Parigi 1710-Lione 1746), Simon-Nicolas (attivo a Lione nella seconda metà del sec. XVIII) e dal figlio di quest'ultimo, Pierre (Lione 1742-Parigi 1816), illustratore di talento. Che sia proprio di Claude lo fa presumere la somiglianza della firma con le altre opere ove compare anche il nome Claude e il fatto che le incisioni degli altri presentano sempre il nome di battesimo. Molto spesso le opere di Claude Duflos vengono confuse con quelle di Claude-Augustin-Pierre Duflos (Du Flos) (1700-1786). Ma mi risulta che quest'ultimo non abbia al suo attivo incisioni con soggetto religioso. Parecchie opere dei vari Duflos sono al Fine Arts Museum di San Francisco, California e al Canadian Heritage Gallery in Canada, nel Département des Estampes et de la Photographie di Parigi e in altri prestigiosi Musei. Unbelievable museum piece. Splendid, extraordinary and rare holy card from 1600/1700, engraving by Duflos. The Duflos were a family of French engravers (sec. XVII-XIX). Claude (Coucy-le-Château 1665-Paris 1727) was capable to reproduce in engraving works of G. Reni, C. Le Brun and of other artists. His activity was continued from the sons Philothée-François (Paris 1710-Lyons 1746), Simon-Nicolas (profitable in Lyons in the second half of the c. XVIII) and from the son of this last, Pierre (Lyons 1742-Paris 1816), illustrator of talent. That it is actual of Claude does to assume it the similarity of the signature with the other works where appears also the name Claude and the fact that the engravings of the other present always the name of baptism. Much often the works of Claude Duflos are confused with those of Claude-Augustin-Pierre Duflos (Du Flos) (1700-1786). But it results to me that this last have not to its credit engravings with religious subject. Several works of the varied Duflos are at the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco, California and at the Canadian Heritage Gallery in Canada, at the Département des Estampes et the Photographie of Paris and in other prestigious Museums.
